I have a 2005 Mercedes slk 55 AMG .So i have a hard time getting the key to get recognized by the car. I put the key in and half the time I don’t hear the keyless entry make the noise indicating that the key is in the slot and it won’t do anything no lights would come on or anything. It’s like it’s up to a coin toss to see if it’ll be recognized or not . I tried cleaning the lens but nothing .Please help!!!

You dont need help----you either need a new ignition switch or a key, now you have to guess which on is faulty or get the car diagnosed to determine the fault!
