2007 SLK350 Trunk issue

The trunk on my 2007 SLK350 doesn't seem to want to stay open on it's own. Cracked in the back of the head once or twice so I've learned the hard way. Do I need to replace the pistons holding it upright? Anyone else have/had this issue? Thanks

Sounds like you nailed it, and there's plenty of sources on line for the replacement units. It bonked my wife a couple times! Its really hard to actually replace it though. I could do the hood replacements, but I had to have my local shop do the trunk ones...took them an expensive hour. Somehow you have to open the trunk higher than, to give you the room, I could do on my own.
