Couple of weeks ago I saw a Time Magazine ad for the SLK350, which gave a URL to a page where you could order a promo DVD. I just received it today and popped it in. Awesome!!!

It's got a nice extended intro called Rush, brief segments on performance, interior, etc, includes 2 commercials currently showing on TV, a photo gallery, and finally a 7-8 minute SLK *movie* called "The Catch". Compared to the short films BMW put out a couple of years ago, this movie is sh*t, but it's nice to see the SLK in action anyhow.

Well, that's 10 minutes of my life I'm never getting back. If you get the DVD, don't bother watching 'catch'. It's really quite awful. Seriousy, Mercedes owes me 10 minutes. Quite possibly worst of all, it makes a freaking Chrysler Sebring look better than the SLK half the time! Not that the Sebring is a bad car (more bland and floaty than bad, really), but come on.

 

I just received DVD. Thank you for warning, I didn't watch 'catch' yet, so will skip it.
BTW I like look of Sebring.

 

'Catch' has been on the internet for several months, on an interactive web site whose URL I can't remember now.

 

I thought it was not so bad. The SLK 350 promo spots were much nicer though.

 

I only watched it quickly when I got the DVD last night, but it appears shortened, one example, the scene cut out where he lowers the roof after being cut off by the truck...
