SLK/R171: slk in the snow

slk in the snow
I just ordered my SLK last week due for delivery in January. I live in NY and we get some pretty nasty snow around the january time frame. So my question is how is this car in the snow? I have a 99 vette that is pretty much undriveable you put the car in drive even with the brake the tires are spinning...lol and thats brand new tires too. I just wanted to hear some of your thoughts

My car should be hear in a few weeks. All of the feedback that I have gotten from owners and my salesman is never drive the SLK on snow with the original tires. This also applied to the previous SLK's. Evidently, the Z rated tires become quite hard and dangerous when they get cold.

The tires the SLK comes with are high performance rubber. This means they loose any semblance of drivability in the winter.
Real world meaning: Prepare to skii your way home in your SLK!
Seriously though, for a car like this, just pick up some cheaper 17 inch wheels buy some Blizzaks and you'll be all set.
