Question Roof rack

Hi Folks

While reviewing SLK configurations within MB websites from other countries (non US), I ran into this option -

(726) Preparation for roof carrying system

It appears that the SLK can be retrofitted to carry a roof rack system but this option is not available in the US

I think a roof rack will really be helpful since the SLK has limited load space in the trunk

Any ideas? Do you know what is included in this option? Can this be added to US SLKs?

Thanks in advance

Are you sure it's a roof rack? Seems more likely to be a trunk rack (I've seen those before, doesn't look good.)

Unless I am mistaken, I am pretty sure there is a roof rack option for European version of the SLK350. Please see

http://www.mercedes-benz.nl/web/show/id=752965

The part number for the roof rack appears to be B67812108. In addition, the option

(726) Preparation for roof carrying system

is also available in europe.

Putting 2 together, it appears that one can get to install a roof rack system for the SLK350.

For our european readers, have you seen this?

Please let us know your thoughts?

Thanks in advance
