Manual drivers: weird feeling from 1st to 2nd shift?
When I press the clutch in 1st at about 3 k (for shifting into 2nd), there is this THUMP feeling coming from the rear of the car...it feels really weird. Has anyone else experienced this?
I'm just wondering if this is normal...If not, what might be wrong?

'01 BMW 330Ci Dinan Signiture series(S) SLK 350 6Spd. CAPRI BLUE AMG, Lighting pkg., heating pkg.
It defintely does not sound normal. We just got our car Xmas Eve and it shifts perfectly smooth. Downshifts beautifully as well. Take your car to the dealer have them test drive it, hopefully it's something that's quickly repaired.

Hadn't had any problems with mine either. It does kinda push out of first gear when I hit the clutch, but that's pretty standard with a short throw shifter.

thats funny that you say that. It happened to me once. about a week after having the car I was driving with my wife we were leaving a parking lot and from 1st to 2nd THUMP. She looked and me and I said "I dont know". Never did it again. I thought I might have released the clutch two quickly but I tried to duplicate the problem and now a month it hasnt done it yet. Let me know what you find out
