SARiDi,

Yes, that's my third set of wheels, sold the Carlsson already. No doubt that the carlsson is the bomb when it comes to weight and material used. But the finishing is so bad that, the finish coating goes bad easily. And they can't really show my 55 brake system. The O.Z. cost 50% less than the Carlsson and it weights the same.

Glad that you like them.

Whitey,

Yeah man, it's time to change my sig. Please work your magic my masta.

Z, I just ordered a 350, added the 18 inch dealer installed wheels. I want to lower it. Can I do it by just changing the rubber pads or do I need to change the springs?
Your car is the best looking SLK I've seen. I'd spring for 19's and lowering kit, but it's the wife's car; I'm just trying to make it my car too (sort of). Thanks for any advice.

That's exactly my point, I don't know why people even consider carlsson and brabus wheels, they are out of style, heavy, and cost 2 and sometimes 3X's more than other wheels.

pkelvin, those O.Z. are hawt. good taste in wheels and exterior mods.

Very Nice car, and attractive driver as well. I couldnt help but notice Chico on the license plate frame, is that CA by chance? I am orriginally from there, and the picture with the ocean in the backgrown is awsome. I miss CA, and if i lived there i could partake in all the great meet and drive you have.

Damn SaRiDi, that looks sick, one of the nicest black on black SLK's I've seen. Good job. Which springs did you lower it with? Do you rub in the rear?

Thanks, Ynot.

I am using Brabus springs to lower my SLK. No rubbing so far, even I was running 3mm spacers at the rear temporary to clear the stock bolts till this morning.

hmm, using stock lugs, I had to change mine to conical lugs (stock lugs are ball seat). And found out later there's a short and long version for the SLK. The short one did the job, the long ones cause alot of clicking noise.

Zaint10, those are 10"s, DPE don't make halves.

SaRiDi - NICE! I'm normally not a big fan of the dark wheels on any car. However, your wheels look super on the black SLK. I reckon I've never seen the right combination. Great job! Last item, has your radio been discussed before? What are the particulars with the radio? Looks like a Kenwood? How tough was the install and what was required. Thanks!

Congrats Saridi,

It looks great.
Another slk with DPE wheels! I was considering that color! It's fairly new so it'll be unique. Man... I've got to hurry up and lower my damn car!

I actually got the aftermarket bolts and get it cut, rather than getting the short version of stock bolts. The reason I chose not to use the short one because they only able to get 4 turns to hold my rims, which may not completely safe.

Thanks for the kind words.

Yes, it is Kenwood DDX-7015. The most difficult part to install the unit is to get the custom trim cut, which may not a easy job for some audio ship due to the shape of our original trim. Other than that, it is pretty straight forward unless you have HK upgrade.

The stock lugs doesn't fit as they are ball seated, I got aftermarket cone seat lugs (short version). I was afraid of that too, but as long as it goes in half an inch it'll be safe. For a while I check and re-torque it every few days to see if it was loose but it was tightly torque, so the short versions will work.
