For those interested in satellite radio, Sirius has announced an interior mounted anntenna to replace the large unsightly external mount. see below:

Been waiting on this for a few months. My VW has the first generation tumor on the trunk lid, but that's not exactly a looker of a car anyway...

I worked in car stereo management for a long time, and this has supposedly been right around the corner for over a year now. It'll be nice to actually see one in person.

The MB kit uses the old style antenna hookups and the sigma uses the new style, but an adapter is available for about $35. Money well spent, and you're still much cheaper by buying the new antenna and adapter than the MB antenna for $150.

Is the Sigma antenna currently available to retail customers, or only as an OEM option? Do you know where one could buy it? Thanks for any information.

Just ordered a color matched antenna from http://colormatchantenna.netfirms.co...alog/index.php to replace the black wart. While it may not be totally out of sight like Sigma it is not vaporware and is very reasonably priced. Should have it before the weekend and will post pictures and report on quality.

Take a look at this. Just got my http://colormatchantenna.netfirms.co...alog/index.php and all I can say is WOW. It is a perfect match and is a great improvement over MB ugly black. I will take some shots tomorrow in daylight and post them with a review of performance. One word of caution: The Allen wrench screw has a plastic head and I could not get it out without stripping (see plastic shavings on the car). I also installed it facing in the wrong direction but afraid to try and unscrew it. This has to be the best $25 mod you can get.

I like the color match, however it looks like the black one is slighlty more shapely. But i think the color makes it look better def. IMO

It is the same antenna just installed backwards.

We are currently working with the vendor on offering a new satellite
antenna (no estimated time of availability at this moment) which will be
compatible with the 2005 models. This new antenna (smaller in size) will
be available in four colors: Black, Silver, White and Pewter.

Please keep in touch with your authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer's Service
Department, as they will advised when this accessory becomes available for
installation.
