iPod and SLK350
For those of you who did not catch it, Apple and MB announced an interface for several MB models with the docking iPods. MB has a FAQ at http://www.mbusa.com/ipod . (They even show a picture of the 350SLK there.) Note that the Command audio system is required. The first interfaces are going to be available for the M class in April, and with other models to follow. Cost is $299 plus installation.
I for one am going to have my dealer remove the 6 CD changer on the SLK I'm picking up in Germany in April (I wish I did not have to buy the CD changer just to get the Command System and the DVD-Nav), and install the iPod interface in its place. It's not necessary to uninstall the changer, but that way I get my glove compartment back in a car that is not exactly long on interior storage. With the iPod holding 10,000 songs, cut navigation through the SLK's screen, and a CD-MP3 in the dash, the CD changer would seem a bit extraneous at best.
Has anyone taken out the changer on their cars yet. Is there a market for them?

200k
Maverick, in australia we got a SLK200K as the base model. Picking mine up today and just reading up on how to run it in properly. Mate's telling me to not baby it and cruise... suggested taking it through the rev range without redlining it and using the tiptronic for the first 500km.. 1 - 3rd gears only..
