Tired of waiting
I ordered a SLK55, waited two months, with no production date. Started calling around and found it. So I cancelled the order and bought from a dealer lot. Ordering a SLK55 is not guaranteed that you will actually have the vechicle, until you get a production date.

That's not what I wanted to hear. My gf and I preordered on Dec. 30th and haven't had a build date yet. I'll call our salesman today....

I stopped by the dealer on this beautiful afternoon. Computer said it's in the port of Baltimore (an hour away), and "released to carrier", so hopefully it'll be at the dealer early next week.
Of course, it didn't help my salesman's day that I sat in the top-down silver SLK350 in the showroom and made "VRRRROOOOM!! VRRRRROOOOOM!!" noises for 15 minutes.

Still no sighting. 
Car has been in port an hour away from dealer since March 14th. We've had beeeee-u-tiful weather here for the past week, but today the rains have started again and the forecast is for 40 more days and nights of rain. Wah!

Car was scheduled to be at the dealership for pick up tomorrow, but I've got a call from my salesman yesterday that the car hasnt shown up at the inspection center yet. It will take two days to send the car from the inspection center to the dealership. Which means it wont be happening this easter weekend!

I feel ur pain
I ordered mine in mind February. They are telling me that I wont get until late June or July as a 2006. It seems odd because some dealers tell me the 2006 models (no difference either) wont be out until Fall. hmm.

It does seem wierd that I get some responses like yours as well as a few saying they will be here a little earlier. Of course I had to call the dealer yet again to confirm this. Not sure why they'd tell me 06's arrive in July if thats not accurate.

Hmm...I'm brand new to the forum since getting my 05 SLK350 2 days ago. I guess the wait is maybe regionally relative or something, since I started looking 2 weeks ago and got it. I did go through a leasing company to find it, got it out of Illinois. Not a problem. Love it so far.

(January) Ordered SLK350 - Firemist Red w/Beige Interior - Just picked it up!
Only has 32 miles on it so far, 'cause I came right home from the dealer in-between the rain storms. First impressions: no buyer's remorse at all. WOO-HOO!!!
So far, the hardest part has been sneaking it into the garage and getting the Noah cover on it before the cat discovered I was home.
I'll post pics (although it's grey and overcast today) in a bit.
