Wondering if anyone has taken ownership of the manual version yet? Anyone drive this version of the SLK? I recently took delivery of the automatic 7 speed, reluctantly, knowing that I much prefer a manual. The automatic is rather amazing.....flawless....seems to know which gear I'm wanting......holding gear on hills; downshifting on its own for curves. Freeway driving generates between 33 and 36.3 mpg. A/C on. Separately.....the sport mode really transforms the vehicle radically. Very strong and immediate. Not to be used during break in. I must admit, I would've like to have spent some time with the six speed. This is a terrific car thus far. Flawless, really. Steel Grey Metallic/ash leather.

Decisions, decisions; I'm in the same boat. I test drove the 250 this past week with an automatic transmission and was pleasantly surprised by its performance (as I plan to place an order for the manual transmission in a few months). I, too, am anxious to hear the driving experiences of others (as my dealer told me he would NOT be getting a manual version in for me to test drive)....guess I may be hitting the road to find a dealer who will have one.

We're thinking of this car so we took both the MT and the AT cars out this weekend for test runs! BUY THE MANUAL tranny.... Far superior and increases the fun factor by 10X IMO.

I've only driven the automatic but plan on ordering the manual to replace my C300.
