The EDP program is not for everyone. If you don't mind the long waits, i mean really long wait times, go for it. We ordered our 2013 SLK 250, manual gearbox, in April 2012. We were told the production starts in June and the car will be ready any time in August. We planned our vacation around the car pickup date. MB provides you with the finest accommodation in Europe. We chose the Beau Rivage Palace in Switzerland and it has to be one of the best hotels we have stayed in. We spent one week in Switzerland before heading to Stuttgart.
The pickup process was an adventure and well organized event. MB makes you feel very special. The lunch among the stars (cars) is special too.
We drove the car on the Autobahn not exceeding the breaking in speed for the car. Amminni (my wife already named her) made it to the Nurburgring too. But a wise man (the race instructor) advised us not to take it to the track. We were glad we didn't. While lapping in a race car, we saw enough accidents to console us having not taken our baby to the track.
From there we drove into Nederlands and then back to Germany where we dropped of our car in Hamburg on September 7th. The car was loaded on the boat on the 14th September and it has arrived and been cleared customs at the Baltimore port yesterday, 28th September. Now the wait begins for that phone call, the dealer asking us to take our Amminni home Will keep you guys posted.

I have been tracking with WW and IFF and both of them pretty much jived. So after the car arrived in Baltimore port (28th Sept) it took exactly 5 days for my dealer(MB of WestChester) to get it. So we go pick it up today. The tacking still shows "Discharged" at the port though.
