Hi. We have a 2012 SLK350 with the HK sound system. We started to have problems playing MP3 music from an 8gb Mercedes memory stick. The stick works fine in our GLK and copies fine to my PC. The music plays in the SLK but intermittently glitches as though the stream is corrupted. Anyone have any similar issues?

Might not be your problem but note that heat build up on the usb would cause the issue described

I forgot to update. We have this problem in both our 2012 SLK and 2015 GLK. We use the port inside the center console compartment. After playing the Mercedes memory stick in the GLK for a while, it also fails the same way though less frequent. The music is copied from CD to MP3 using EAC and LAME MP3 encoder set for 320k bits/s high quality. The glitches occur on 2 different brands of memory sticks. It is as though the system gets bogged down and can't keep up with the stream of data from the stick. Just a guess. I have not tried using a lesser bits/s rate. I suspect that might be the solution.
