SLK32 Performance Numbers by GTech
I decided to have a little fun with my GTech Performance Pro Competition this weekend. Conditions: ~100 degrees F and ~80% humidity--hardly ideal! I used my GTech software to compare the performance achieved during today's run with my SLK32 vs. that achieved 15 months ago in my SLK320 (probably ~70 degrees and ~40% humidity). In a nutshell here are the takeaways:
0-60 ft
32: 2.303s, 320: 2.265s
All 32 runs today were done with traction control on and me just putting the pedal down all the way. These numbers indicate to me what I already know: that's not the optimal way to launch the 32! I'll experiment with other launch techniques and see what numbers I get with them but in the mean time any advice is welcome.
0-60 mph
32: 5.162s, 320: 6.855s
I was hoping for sub-5 times here but these higher numbers could be related to A. the suboptimal launches, B. the weather conditions, and/or C. the freeway feeder making for a slow track.
1/4 mile
32: 13.737 @ 103.15, 320: 14.909 @ 97.91
Again I was hoping for a greater disparity here. Most sources I have seen show the 32 at a 13.0-sec 1/4. Also I'm not sure how accurate the GTech is.
rear-wheel power
32: 222 HP @ 5152 RPM, 320: 132 HP @ 4728 RPM
Manufacturer specs claim
32: 349 HP @ 6100 RPM, 320: 215 HP @ 5700 RPM
These power calculations are estimates provided by GTech based on how much power is necessary to move a 3500-lb mass (3220-lb curb weight + 200-lb me + 3/4 tank of gas) at such speeds. I expect (hope!) that the GTech underestimates these numbers but it seems to be doing so relatively consistently: 222 is 63.6 % of 349 while 132 is 61.4% of 215. Bear in mind that these power plots came from a 1/4 run, not a dyno run so they don't make for a great dyno graph nor do they necessarily show peaks in the appropriate ranges.
rear-wheel torque
32: 241.8 ft-lbs @ 4591 RPM, 320: 161.5 @ 4110 RPM
Manufacturer specs claim
32: 332 ft-lbs @ 4400 RPM, 320: 229 ft-lbs @ 3000-4600 RPM
Again these estimates seem low but are consistent: 72.8% and 70.5% respectively.

MBWorld Fanatic!
On a really hot day (90+ degrees, with comparable humidity), my SLK32 ran 13.2@106 with a 2.1 60' (going from memory). It was so hot, the car wouldn't spin the tires off the line. I would just flatfoot it as soon as the lights dropped.
Take your car to the track, more accurate #s.

Lamborghini Gallardo, Turbo, SLK 55, E350 4Matic, Xterra
SLK32= V6 SUPERCHARGED 349bhp (run's around 13's 1/4 miles)
SLK55= V8 SUPERCHARGED 355bhp (run's around 12.7 1/4 miles)
those are the basics
