SLK gas paddle removal
Does anyone have a procedure to remove the gas paddle on a slk (R170)?
The holding screws seem to be hidden.
I need to install a spring booster to my slk32.
Thanks!

here is how on slk32
1) Under the gas paddle, there is a plastic cover (size of a dime), pop it off with a small flathead screw driver.
2) Now you need a 10mm socket to remove the nut below the cover. A deep socket the best.
3) After the nut is out, you need to remove the washer underneath before you can lift the paddle. This is VERY hard on my car because the washer tend to grab on the threaded stud. I had to use a strong magnet to fish it out.
4) Now the bottom half of the paddle can be lifted up.
5) Once lifted the bottom, pull the paddle towards the rear of the car. Some gentle force will be needed. The is a plastic stud on the back of the paddle that will pop out of a hole when pulled.
6) Unplug the oem harness on the side of the paddle by pushing both sides of the connector and pull it apart.
7) Plug the sb in between the oem connector. Don't worry, there is only one way that you can plug it in.
8) Stuck the wire/connector to the right hand side into a tight space.
9) Reassemble. Make sure the plastic stud on the back of the paddle is in the index hole (see Step 5).
10) Done!
