considering.......
hello to all.........

i am considering a slk320amg...i love the marque & have been a benz 'thusiast some time, thing is these newer models are diffrent...
so, what should i be looking for ,any faults that they have ,any recalls, infact anything........

i know the general motor theme, arches ,crash damage etc..but where are the slk320amg faults......cheers guys...

check their MAF sensors, wiring harness and any rust. Go for it!! It's a beautiful car

I'm not familiar with the slk320amg. In the States we have the slk32. These are the last Mercedes that are still relatively easy to fix before many other electronic goodies trickled in in the newer cars.
I have a 2002 model year. It is a great car. No problem 5 years except for a leaky rear view mirror which is under warranty (There is a thread talking about getting it from the mirror manufacturer).
Regular wear items I changed include a new battery and 4 new RE050 Pole Position tires (see my thread on this) which I highly recommend. The tires alone made the slk32 better than new.
Very powerful car!

There is no SLK320amg. There is an SLK320 with the amg apperance package and the SLK32. The SLK320 has a NA 3.2l 6 cyl engine. The SLK32 is SC'd.

These cars do not have MAF's unlike the 4cyl cars.

Get a copy of the repair history from a dealer.

i assure you sir..a ltd NO. of AMGSLK32 do exist ,its not a 'look alike' its the genuine article..a 32AMG motor shoe horned into the slk.
a real 350bhp beasty..check it out....

Dude please practice critical reading.

You asked about an SLK320AMG there is no such thing. There is an SLK320 with the AMG appeance package and there is an SLK32. They are two different animals.

I have an SLK32 and have had one for a number of years. If this is the vehicle you are interested in it is an SLK32 not an SLK320AMG. AMG uses 2 digit designations for their vehicles - 32, 55, 63, 65, etc. Mercedes uses 3 digits to designate standard models - 230, 320, 500, 550, 600, etc.

As a development engineer with ***, i TELL you dude (lol) there is SLK320AMG..FORGET THE GIRLY KIT,on the wanaby car.. THIS BEASTY IS THE FULL MASHINGS,(345bhp to be exact).. NOT NO.. 'I CAN HANDLE LOOKALIKE'..THIS IS THE MOTHER THAT WILL KILL YOU!! treat with respect ,i had a few AMG's

tracktability..
so far the roads have been quite dry, but soon the showers come & the roads get a bit greasy...how do you find the balance & traktability of your motor, t/c on /off ??
