hey steveL, did you get the car dynoed yet? also if i have an aftermarket exhaust system on the 32, will adding the headers make it louder or sound any different?

Car dyno'd at 361 whp and about 348 ft/lbs. Unfortunately I don't have a real before as when Vadim got the car, the exhaust and headers had already been modified. Vadim tells me that car is running very strong. With stock brakes and wheels, I'd likely be in the 370s.

Vadim will have to comment on the sound.

Damn, that would've been nice to know. I can't wait till Vadim posts a sound clip.

I'm picking the car up on June 29th so I'll definitely have more to say then. I know Vadim has received at least 3 orders for the headers so hopefully someone will be able to post a before and after dyno.

Blue graph is stock 32, green is what the car dynoed when we got it and red is now.

I will try to record the sound with a good camera and post it on our website.

Here a video of idle and a little engine revving. VRP (Vadim) headers, custom exhaust back to stock AMG muffler, and custom intake by Vadim as well.

Below 3000 rpm the car is pretty calm, above, the acceleration is best described as violent.

That exhaust would sound soo nice if it was stick. You would be able to hear it burble between the shifts.

Man sounds good. Which muffler are you running?

Stock AMG muffler. No resonators but still 4 cats.

Is there any performance advantage to deleting the resonator with the headers? I just ordered a set from Vadim and I am wondering whether I need to plan the delete at the same time. Or is it strictly an "aural aesthetic"? Steve's car sounds great, but if there's no gain in it I'd rather not become more of a cop magnet. My car is currently modded with Code3 pulley and intake breather, LET HE, Johnson pump and LET ECU tune. I'll be swapping the C3 intake mod for a LET CAI and adding plugs and wires essentially at the same time.

Vadim posted information on the resonator a long time ago. I believe he stated it was worth 3-4 rwhp.

Thanks, I found it with that help...that was a pretty old post, but right on target! Looks like the resonator needs to go.

Vadim,

You're a mad scientist . I love what you are doing for the MB community. Will those headers and intake work on my 320? I would only need the intake on one side and not dual. Let me know by PM. Thank you.
