R170 headlight upgrade
Hi Everyone from Australia! ....Yes I'm a newbie, but certainly not to Mercedes cars.
Finally got the 'midlife crisis model' The SLK230 is a good start and I scored one at a decent price too. Had my eyes on other colors but fell on love with the blue as it enhances the shape I feel.
I've got some things to do for sure but the important bits work well. Along with the maintenance & some small missing bits I intend to change the headlights to projector/halo/HID options. Can anyone recommend particular ones to use or avoid? I regularly purchase on eBay so help here would be appreciated. Cheers from Me.

Hi, I did in fact get a set of projector angel-eyed HID lamps via eBay a month or so ago and they look and work well! Cost was AU$340.00 approx. I had to hard-wire them as the sockets did not suit. I expected this as AU fittings can be different. Alignment was also a challenge but I got there. Also fitted a new aftermarket grille for AU$150.00 to complete the refreshing look. No problems with that one. Don't forget touch up vinyl spray is quite cheap and easy to fix with a fine pen sprayer. Replace interior lamps with LED 16smd festoons for just $1 each!
