What would you rather have '03 SL500 or New SLK55?

While I'd prefer an SL55, I'd take the SL500 over the SLK55. I did take an SLK32 over the SL... Two very different cars even if both are two seaters.
Don't see what resale value has to do with it. Both probably depreciate at about the same percentage rate. With the SL, the dollar drop will be bigger but it will still seem expensive
. With a year or two on it, the SL has already taken a hit. If you buy the SLK new, it will take a bigger percentage hit right after you put it on the road.

What are your friends priorities?
Personally I think the SL500 looks better. Plus it has more creature comforts & features.
The SLK55 will be faster and handle better.
What is more important to your friend?
