I took the SLK 55 AMG in for the 1000 to 3000 mile first inspection service. I told my service man, who is very skilled with automobiles and has been working with Mercedes for over 20 years, that I have a problem with the speakers. He told me that the head people of Mercedes sent a letter saying that some of the Entertainment Packages are defaults. He then told me that a part that controls the speakers, the cd, the phone has to be changed to the new unit. He then told me it is a German unit so I have to wait for delivery. I suggest everybody to get their car serviced and just mention something about the speakers, say they are going out once in a while and you will automatically get a new and better computer unit.
