Exclamation font license plate holder

OK about to trade in my slk32. my 2nd slk for the new slk55 but the thing i'm worried is that the dealers in MASS require the car when sold to have the front license plate holder installed. Now here's the problemo. I hope they don't this anymore. But when i got me slk32 the front license plate holder was screwed in to the front bumper."almost pissed my self".IF you try to take it off there are 4 huge holes in the bumper! Do they still do this with the new sl55's?

It's your car & your money....I wrote a letter to my dealer to NOT install the front plate and told them if they did I would NOT accept the car. As far as I know the dealer is the one who installs the plate holder in front. Now in Ca. I think they must install it but I'm not sure.

here in canada, it is done automatically at the port of entry depending on where the car is going. i think that in the states it should be the same. some states might have a requirement for the front and some might not, therefore, according to the serial # of the car and where it is going, this might be done as soon as it lands due to the dirrerent laws.

Here in California the front plate is required. However, my dealer had me sign a form stating that I requested the plate not be installed by them. So they are off the hook if I don't put the plate on the front. As far as I know, the only way to put the plate up front is to drill holes in the front bumper.

When I got mine, the salesperson told me that she would not put the front tag if it was her car as it reqiuired drilling into the bumper.... When I saw the car I agreed so I did not have it installed..I just keep it in the car. I am in MD where both tags are required..I guess if I am pulled over I will come up with some excuse..lol I did not have to sign anything.
