NAV System

Is the optional NAV system worth the money ? Is it a touch screen like I have seen on other cars or does it have buttons on the side of the display ?
For those that bought it are you happy with it ?

If you dont care much about sound system, the NAV is a nice option 'cause the H/K system that comes with the NAV gives out OK sound. But if you are picky on sound system, get aftermarket HU and speakers. The H/K is nowhere near stunning.

It is not a touch screen NAV, only buttons on the side.

I rate it a 7.5 out of 10.

nav

I strongly recommend the nav.
Two cars ago (Audi A4 sport) the car had the nav, which I did not want- but it was the only car available at the time. I went on to enjoy it and really use it. My next car was an ordered car, and I ordered the nav because now I would not be without it (MB E320 4-matic). Now, my SLK (also an ordered car) has the nav.
Interesting, but I seem to use the nav more locally than on trips. Also, another neat point- earlier today there was a weather alert from NOAA for areas west of longitude 70 West. I turned on my map, which can be set to display these coordinates, and found I was at 72 West, and thus away from the storm!
Lots of fun, easy to use, and very useful.

My 2 Cents

I did not want the NAV at first but then the cost is a fraction of what the car costs. I decided to go ahead and go all out and get the NAV also. It works great for finding those golf courses you have never played on.

No regrets at all!
