Exclamation Weak start when engine is warm?

Hi Folks

Still loving my car nearly 4 months on but I've noticed a few times that if I start the car with a warm engine (after a good run) then the start is quite weak, certainly compared to when I start the engine from cold?

Anybody else noticed this or got any ideas?

Cheers.

What do you define as a weak start?

The 55 engine makes a much more subdued sound when you start it up from a warm engine. That's normal, the engine sound when cold starting is a very mechanical whirl and crackling noise, whilst when completely warm, just bellows out a rumble.

Some cars do this.

By 'cold start' I meant as in the engine not having been run for say 12hrs, i.e. all residual heat from the engine has dissipated.

When I start my 'warm engine' it seems to reluctantly cough/splutter into life during the ignition process but then is fine once running.

Hope this clarifies things.

Rgds

I've experienced this in most Mercedes as well as other cars.
