Update: 2006 SLK 55 AMG's on Hold at VPC
I was supposed to pick up my SLK55 AMG last Friday, July 15th, but found out the car in "on hold" at the VPC.
My car was produced the week of June 20th. The car was shipped from Germany on 6/29 (the vessel was the Tampa) and received at the VPC in Baltimore on 7/12.
The dealer called today with more details about the hold. He said all '06 SLK55 AMG's at the VPC were on hold due to an exhaust problem. The cars would be delayed for an estimated 4 weeks. Not what I wanted to hear.
Not sure about '06's produced in the beginning of the month of June and those scheduled to be produced after my car but it doesn't sound good.
I will let you know more when I get more details.

06 SLK 55, 05 G35 Coupe 6sp.
My 06 was built on 6-1. I've been driving it for about 3 weeks. Only comment I have about exhaust is that it's the best factory exhaust of any car I've ever had.
