Storage Bin problems
Logged 7500 miles in about 4 months and something finally went wrong besides the broken fog lamp. The storage bin seems to have problems opening for 2 of the possible 3 methods. Anyone else experience this?
Is there a solution to the fog lamps? Has MBUSA taken responsibilty?
Also, my stock wheels are up for sale. Tires are Pirelli P zero Rosso. They are perfect with only 30 miles on them. email me with reasonable offers: vincent@vothang.com. I thought I would probably reinstall them when I sell the car but I will probably keep this thing til it's last leg.
Cheers,
Vincent

It seems logical that the fog lamp issue is because the lamps are low to the ground and are NOT tucked away. It's due to pebbles from the road hitting them. I can't imagine it's anything else. Of course, they're going to break. We picked up our SLK 55 on Wed and that's the first thing that I noticed. I told the salesperson that they would probably break because of pebbles, and he agreed.

I went through 2 fog lights. 157 bux each. Here's what ya do.
Go to wal mart and buy 2 94 cent plastic measuring cups. They have red markings on them and are about 3 1/2 inches in diameter. Cut the bottom off the cup just where the angle starts toward the bottom. I used a radial arm saw but a table saw will probably work OK. Buy some JB Weld and epoxy those bottoms onto the chrome bezel around the fog light. The look like they came with the car.
BTW replacing the fog light is really easy. It's all done from the front.

I've got the storage bin problem also. Finally figured out that if I push it down firmly, it will click and then open normally.
