SLK55 AMG
Dry sump?
Hi all, I was wondering is someone can confirm whether the engine in the SLK55 has a dry or a wet sump. According to the AMG information I understand it is a dry one. That will actually make this engine better suited to track day action than a Boxster S, Cayman S or a 911 for that matter!! 
I know that track days are not the main reason to get this car, but it will be nice to know... :v

Both of the current 5.4 liter variants are wet sump. All 911's are dry sump. Boxter is too. Well, some might call it a semi-dry sump since the oil resivoir is integrated into the block. Come to think of it, the 996 was that way too.
