Race fuel SLK 55 guys!

I'm just curious as to whether some have found any benefits to using race fuel at the track.I'm sure the guys with the C32's have since they are F/I but I want to know if this has been the case as far as an improvement in performance.Especially on the N/A motors.

While you may not see any gain from it, adding 50% 100 octane fuel the the tank certainly would let the engine run at the highest level the ECU is programmed for. In other words, it would eliminate any possibility that the ECU could retard timing and cut performance.

I may consider programming the car with the star diag for the RON92 setting.I don't know if you are familiar with that.

I've heard of it but I cannot find where it has any benefit to making more power. RON stands for Research Octane Number and is higher than what is posted at the pump in the USA. We use an average of Research and Motor Octane Numbers at the pump. Fuel with a RON of 92 could have a MON of 86 and therefore the posed average at the pump would be 89. So, IMO, if you were to set your ECU to the RON92 level, you would be lowering performance by telling the ECU to already start with a less agressive timing and fuel map. If the setting was R+M/2 92 and pump gas was 91, then I'd say you might be gaining some power.
