UK running costs...

I pick up my new SLK55 this weekend and would like some advise on running costs. My dealer has offered me a service contract at £108 a month assuming 12k miles a year. Can someone who has had a SLK55 for a while give me some rough running costs?

Specifically how often has it been serviced at what cost?
How long tyres and brake pads last.

Can't wait until the weekend

Thanks

Phil

A SL55 delivered 8/18/07, and an E55 wagon delivered 5/11/05
I had my car for 10 1/2 months almost 12000 miles only money into so far is the "A" service $200 and a set of tires at 8300 miles $1200. Wolf

Phil £1296 a year sounds WAY too expensive. You should only need one service a year and that shouldn't set you back more than £500.

Does the service contract include tyres and pads? If it does you would need to use a complete set every year for the contract to be reasonable value...... depends how hard you plan to drive, personally I'd expect to go through a set of rears every year because of the torque but the fronts should last a bit longer.

Yes it includes tyres and pads. Should cover all normal running costs.
