Very sweet. Do you know the weight savings? If it's a good amount that would be very beneficial as your removing weight from the highest point on the car and slightly lowering the center of gravity. Although I think a CF hood would be beneficial too to help offset the heavy engine.

Carbon fibre is a bit of a yawn if all you want to show is the texture ..... its main function is strength which is hardly useful for a non-structural roof. It would be like having a carbon fibre wallet ....

What would look awesome is if you kept the body color on the left and right edges of the roof, and had carbon fiber just in the middle, so that the front windshield, carbon fiber, and rear windshield form one continuous dark section, framed by body colored metal, similar to this:

If this was me, I would paint the panel the same color as the car while enjoying the extra strength and weight savings... perhpas an idea for future mods throughout the car

Damn, I really need to call them and find out how much it is... I wonder if they ship to Europe? (with my luck, it'll be expensive...)

I'll give them a call... it'll be a long distance call tho', that kinda sucks
I do have a few questions I wanna ask him:
1) how much does the original roof piece weigh (I suppose it's aluminium), and how much does the CF replica weigh.
2) How much does it cost to make this piece, and can the price be brought down if we do a group buy.
3) How long to wait for construction time (i.e. does it take a week to make the piece and is there a waiting time before they can make a batch of roofs).
4) Fit and finish, can the piece be swapped with relative ease and without having any nasty gaps or stuff (should not be a problem if it's an exact fit)...
I do have a fear that the piece will cost several thousand dollars (knowing the price of CF) and that the difference in weight is not significant enough (if it's less then 10lb's, then it's too small a difference IMO...).

dinko: hey, when do you think you'll be able to get some pics of the installation for us? Got any indication of a price and weight yet?
I'm really eager to find out more
It's not really easy for me to give the states a call due to the cost and time zone differences =(
