Best-selling roadster in its segment
However, good to hear. I assume it is competing with the Boxster and BMW roadsters.

SLK 230
Strange..
Indeed . I especially find it interesting that 50% g for the SLK 200? How slow do they want to drive?! If you want to go for the SLK anything less than 350 and you might as well walk.

I dont think its about speed. its about price. a slk200 in Australia cost as much as a slk55 in the States.. and in Singapore slk200 cost 128000 US before options.. and this is pretty much the same in most Asian countries

AMG
the price is a factor + the looks + the purpose of getting the 200 might be just that its in fact a roadster with great handling which speed & power isn't a priority...+ dont forget the insurance too!

SLK 55 AMG
Considering the price of the car in general, it's not too bad.
The best selling roadster is the Miata (MX5), but it's been here since 1989, sold less then 800,000 copies since then, and now the SLK is here with just over 400,000 copies since it came out in 96 or 97 (I think only a handful of cars were built in 96).
Seeing as the SLK is quite a bit more expensive (in some cases 3-4 times as much), this is a good achievement. I think this gap may go down even more since the new MX5 is relatively expensive (over 40,000chf over here, close to the price of an SLK 200) and there was a fire in the Hiroshima plant early last year which caused a disruption for 6 months for Mazda.
