Brabus Steering wheel with paddel shift
ok i emailed brabus for the price for the steering wheel and they quoted me 2295... is it me or does that really expensive for a steering wheel?? there is a choice of finishes either alcantara or carbon fiber... so what does everyone think???

Quality is the main reason why Brabus and Carlsson have a higher retail price. Remember, these steering wheels are handcrafted which consumes a lot of labor. However, by paying a premium you purchase a good quality steering wheel plus the brand name itself. Note that Brabus is the number one TUNER for mercedes benz.

Well Brabus is Brabus. AMG is the in house tuner for MBZ. And Brabus is voted number 1 for MBZ tuner. Many times you pay a premium for something different. Personally Brabus and Carlsson are the two most classy aftermarket tuners for MBZ.

Who did you speak with at BRABUS NA? Andreas? Matt?
I deal with Matt at BRABUS NA. Below is a picture of my BRABUS steering wheel. It is the best one they make with a combination leather-alcantara. It has chrome shift paddles. Very, very nice. I will post a better pic of it this afternoon. By far my favorite cosmetic upgrade. PM me for price information if you are interested.

For everyone's information:
BRABUS Part#: 171-805-10 = Steering Wheel R171 for SLK AMG with Shifty $1,900 plus $95 installation.
This is the best leather + alcantara wheel they make. The carbon fiber one may be more. If the price they quoted you was on the leather + alcantara unit, try to negotiate with them.
