CLK63 wheels on SLK55? (with photochop)

Hi Folks,

Got an SLK55 on order. Really dig the new 5-spoke titanium-grey wheels on the 63AMG's. Looks like the CLK63's version of them fit the SLK almost perfectly. Has anyone here ever ordered a custom build with different wheels from the factory? Does MB do this? Do you have to pay for the wheels on top of the stock wheels, or just the difference?

Here's what it would look like:

Wheels go through the dealership,,, you can't order a SLK from the factory with the wheels you want,,, unless there are a few options... like the SLK 350 has like 2 or 3 options and the SLK 55 AMG only has one. But you can't order from the factoyr which wheels you want... so the CLK wheels you can't get.... But you can talk to your dealership and they will get them for you seperately and you have to pay extra for that. if you get the 63 AMG wheels, get the 19 inch ones, if they do come in 19 inches. and the dark grey one too. You will get the wheels you want,,, just not the easy and simple way.

Thanks for the info. I may just stick with the 18"-ers. I don't think the 19"-ers have the right widths and offsets.

AMG has very interesting off-sets for the wheels and tires used on the SLK55.

I have discovered that it is VERY $$$$$ to get into wheel/tire change.

I am not a fan of the multi-spoke wheels on my SLK55, but the cost to replace them is prohibitive.

The specs for the SLK55:
7.5x18 J ET 37
8.5x18 J ET 30

The specs for the CLK63
7.5x18 J ET 34
8.5x18 J ET 30

Seems like they would fit, no?

I learned today that the 63 wheels would be in the neighborhood of $8K. I like them, but not that much. I'll stick with the stockers and maybe get a mother's powerball or something to clean all those spokes.

Sounds like a good idea, for 6-7k you can get lighter wheels etc
or you can get one from the german tuners, Brabus,Vath and other tuners such as Kleemann,ART,Lorinser,Carlsson.
