Ipod remove Dash?

Ipod remove Dash?
Hi! My new 2006 SLK55 is being delivered on Thursday. I've asked about getting the dealer installed iPod integration kit. I've been told that they have to take the dashboard off to do this? I'm relucant to have someone do something that major on a new car. I'm also being told it is more difficult to do this on an SLK55 than on the SLK280 or 350? (Doesn't make any sense to me!)
This is pretty important, because if I can't get the iPod integration, I'll probably get the CD changer, but I would prefer the iPod kit.
I'm very excited to get the car. (It has the enhanced audio package with Nav)

Did you do this yourself? Or did you have a dealer do it? It looks like it is really just removing the glove compartment and peeling back some carpet?

Went back to the dealer. They did some more research and found... Ta Da...it was as easy as you laid out. They now have the ipod integration module on order. Their excuse is that they talked to the Parts Dpet and they steered them wrong. Dumb excuse when they have installers 50 feet away.
