I'm thinking about getting a slk55 and would like to see what everyone thinks about the following?
1. Used or new? I see some used one for pretty good pricing around local dealers and also on Ebay.
2. How about buying cars(from a dealer) on Ebay? Has anyone done this and was it a good experience?
3. Will the price be better if purchased in the month of November and December vs now? I live in Virginia and that's the start of winet time. Also, it's closer to 2007 and perhaps dealers will be more willing to negotiate?
I'm looking for one with a light (silver, pewter, grey) exterior. I think this show the lines of the car much more.

With a US production of only around 1,000 a new SLK is a bargain starting at at 63k, stripped. If you're into the toys, a used fully loaded may be cost effective as well. Good luck

 

I bought a previous MB vehicle (not the SLK55) on eBay and it was a positive experience. I traveled to the dealer and inspected the car before taking delivery. My friend just bought a Bimmer 750 on eBay and so far, so good for him. He felt the experience was a good one and he saved more than $5,000 over what he would have paid locally. He, too, picked up the car in person.

Think very hard about the COMMAND vs. the base/standard head unit for the radio.
I have the base radio, and it is impossible to refit with COMMAND.
Had i known this, I would not have gotten the base radio.
You don't have to get navigation immediately - but I strongly recommend you find a car with COMMAND.
It will definately increase the future value and desirablity of the car.
