Power Steering Broken Help!!!

I was takeing a freind for a joy ride to show off the SLK all was well , until we
got to doing a downut on the road as i enterred into the spin I felt the steering get real hard to turn and bam no power steering !!!!!!
It sounds as if the steering pump is working there is oil in the pump, and all the belts are still there.
is this electrical or machenical failure have started the car again a couple of times but no steering power.
The car has only don 5000 km st
PS turning the car without the power steering = great gym work out .

Okay I toock the car to Mercedes yesterday , they dont know whats wrong with it, they are going to start with replaceing the power steering pump which is going to take about two weeks to get here.
if the pump is not the problem then they are going to replace the steering column which im sure will take another two weeks just to get one all in all im sure the poor car is going to be in for a long time .
Sulk man as winter is ending and the first days of sun have come my car has gon. I only drove one day with the top down.
Any way im still cool cause that car is wirth waiting for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nope two days I wish they got me a lowner c350 , not a bad car the 7 speed box suits it ,I have another couple of mercs but i insist on the lowners as i know they will not forget about my car and most time they trie to finish it sooner so they can get the lowner back . but as for my SLK its going to be some time before i get it back.

no i am not from sa. It should not take more than a week to fix because a sterring pump is a one day job. If they have to order the part it should take 2 days.
