Lock/Beep

Is there any way to enable a "beep" when the SLK55 is locked? I could not seem to find it in preferences. I always walk away from the car wondering whether the remote really locked it or not. It is too expensive a car to leave it unlocked!! (And yes, I do know that the lights blink, but it is pretty subtle on a sunny day to catch that!)

Thanks!

Not exactly the answer you want but...

Change out your door pins to aluminum or chrome. I changed mine out and that's my visual indicator that the doors are in fact locked.

you can also have the side mirrors fold in when you lock the car, that helps me.

Not in the US, but poster doesn't specify location.

Side mirrors

I guess I should update my profile~
I am in upstate NY in the USA.
Alas, mirrors won't help.
I wonder if this is a common complaint? Might there be an aftermarket add-on opportunity?
Thanks!

I vaguely remember in one of the forums, some one stating a horn beep COULD be enabled by service using the Diag system.

Then there was some discussion about the default being silent due to (MB's interpretation) of some European countries noise laws.

Also, some other discussion, about their service guy saying it wasn't possible, until forced to go thru all the settings.

Does anyone have any definitive information on this?
