I bought from the MB dealer an SLK car cover. Maybe I'm doing something wrong...but...what do I do with the antena?

There seems to be a double layer are where I assume the antena should go....but no hole or lag...ie so that the antena is not all bend.


Anyone? Help!!!

I'm guessing you would have to take it off. Do you have the long or short antenna?

I have the long one. Maybe I should change it to the short one.

Now...pardon my ignorance/stupidity but...how do you take it off? Turning it? By hand?

There should have been a little black plastic piece that looks kinda like a thick washer with gripping grooves around the outside. The hole fits over the bottom of the antenna and it can be twisted off. I think there was one thrown in the trunk. Hopefully, if you found one, you didn't toss it. I now keep mine in the the armrest behind a little piece of elastic. Just so I don't lose it.

A washer on the cover?

I just ordered it from the MB dealer and hopefully they can get it for me. In the mean time will try to take off the long antena.

When I first got my car I bought a cover with it because it had to stay outside for awhile so I had to do this quite often. Just unscrew it. I was told to place it between the drivers door and seat on the ground so I would always know where it was and it was safe from rolling around and getting messed up. It worked.
