I'm planning to purchase a used 2006 SLK55
I'm planning to purchase a used 2006 SLK55 and trade in my CLK500 for it. I'm pretty surprise that my CLK with 17k mileage is not holding its value. What kind of problem(s) wills I be looking for, what do I need to know and etc? Any helps would be grateful, thanks in advance.

I've had mine a year nearlly, not really encounted many problems. all I can think of is small stuff you may want to get sorted. any noise from the roof or brakes. check the pads and disk wear. (i've gone through a set on the track) also make sure all the maintenance has been performed at or before the correct times and the book is stamped upto date. Also remember it may be a little rare to get an 55 compared to the more popular models, so if you see a clolour, option list you like, pick it up quick.

I don't really care about options except Navigation and had to have bi-xenon
1st choice: black with black/red
2nd choice: silver with black/red
3rd choice: white with black/red
Any forum members have any other issues beside roof and brakes noises?

I second the Airscalf. Even in texas on those not so warm nights, it's awesome.
regarding the pads and disks on a 55 it's easy if its daylight you can see. pads should wear evenly(there is only 1 sensor on the front right outer pads) so just look at 1 pad through the spokes. 1cm(1/2") is good 3-4mm means there getting low. regaeding the disks, look at the outer edge of the disk and check if you can see a lip. new disks should have harldy a lip on the edge a really warn pad will be 2mm or so.
