Cold Weather Warning

We discussed this last year, but just a reminder, the OE Pirellis (and many other high performance tires) noticeably lose their grip below 40 degrees, even on a dry road, especially before the tires are warmed up. I almost spun the car on a entrance ramp this morning. Not surprisingly, the colder the temperature, the more noticeable it is...it was 19 degrees here in NJ this morning.

I have that problem in warm wheather. Seriously, its not indicative of onlly high performance tires - all tires lose traction when its cold. Having a softer compund/higher performance tire will help moreso than a harder compound/lower rated speed tire. Just keep the ESP engaged & ease into the throttle more gently when its cold (and/or don't accelerate hard when cornering or the car can/will rotate on you).
