SLK55 vs E39 M5
Has anyone ever raced an E39 M5 1/4 mile or hwy? I'm confident that the SLK55 is faster all around.

I owned an e39 M5 two cars ago .... Yes its a smokin fast car, especially in the top end. 400 HP and tons of torque to match. However, my 2006 SLK55 would certainly take it quite easily. When I get asked by friends about the power of the SLK, I always reply "faster than the M5 if you can imagine that !" Also, because the M5 is a stick, there is also a launch advantage in favour of the auto SLK. You would have to be perfect in the gears to keep the race close. If you screwed up even just a bit, it would be an ugly loss !
