MEsh Wind deflector vs plexi Glass
Did any body buy the OEM Plexi Glass deflector and does it do a better job at reducing the buffeting or it is only better for rear vision at night ?
General concensus is:
Plexi looks better, but may cause some glare at night. The mesh may protect better against wind buffeting, probably because of the large holes at the bottom of the plexi (used so that driver can see the rear parktronic leds).
Maybe by blocking those holes, the plexi will protect better against wind, and there is the advantage that the plexi fits the looks of the car better and many owners leave it on permanently.
However, it's easy to take off, so unless you're 100% certain it's safe, don't leave your car parked outside with the top open and plexi in place. Of course, it looks so nice that most would probably think it's impossible to take it off and that it actually is part of the car (glued/screwed in place).
I saw one on a demo car at a dealer in Geneva, and whilst I didn't drive the car, I took off, and put back on the plexi, and it wasn't that hard or time consuming. It seemed to fit perfectly and was less of a hassle then the mesh.
