Moving: Battery to the trunk

Has anyone moved their battery into the trunk in the SLK 55 for better weight distribution?

not I

and I understand the want to move weight from front to back but you need to also consider LEFT/RIGHT. The SLK55 is balanced extremely well LEFT/RIGHT and you will mess that up moving the battery to the rear.

I wouldnt do it, I would rather do aftermarket Coilover's and ligher wheels to improve handeling.

How do you know? Did you weigh yours? What's the balance with driver?
Just curious.

yes

I did weigh my car on a all 4 corners. Balance remained very good with weight added on to simulate driver weight.

You would lose like 2% weight from one corner... might be a better mod to do with a right hand drive car? I think the fact that you're improving weight distribution by nearly 80lb's is going to provide more gains tho'.
