Bliping the throttle
After some practice in M mode, I'm now able to blip the throttle on down shifts by timing the gear change and tapping the accelerator at the right time. It's pretty cool to hear the engine fire off as the rev matches. It's best between 4k and 3k in engine speed. Almost feel like I'm driving a lambo or ferrari with their paddle shifters.
Just wondering if this could cause long term damge/confusion with the tranmission by any chance? I mean by down shifting and hitting the gas to match the rev? I often do this in M mode and sometime sin C. I leave S alone.

that is interesting, and i'm going to try it...but how do you handle the immediate increase in tach when upshifting? or am I doing it wrong? can't get rev matching...i lay off the accelerator upon upshifting(as i did in clutch shifting) hoping to keep it on an even keel till the new gear engages, but it still whines higher and isn't smooth like a clutch shift. I just got my SLK 55 last week so i'm new to this "Manual" mode, after driving a stick my whole life.
