Porsche Cayman S
First post

My first post
I recently sold my Cayman S, and am now in the shop and wait mode. I will be ordering another car after the first of the year when the 2010 models come out.
Prior to the Porsche, I owned an SLK 32 AMG, which I liked for its power and drop top.
I seriously considered an SLK55 and drove them as much as the local dealerships would allow, but got hooked on the Porsche after a 3 hour test drive to Palomar Mountain. It was an excellent car, but I live in San Diego and really missed the convertible.
I have always loved the look and raw power of the SLK55 and I have a few questions if you will indulge me.
Why do you see so very few of them on the road? In the years it has been out, I have only seen three or four on the street.
I have read a bit about the 2010 model, but the rumors tend to be vague and scattered all over the place. I like the current body style, but would obviously love the 6.2 engine. Is there anything I can read from a trustworthy source?
Some of you have owned your SLK55 for a couple of years. Can you give me some highs and lows?
I modified the Porsche (Headers, exhaust, intake) but will not modify this one. For those who do not modify the car, have you been satisfied?
Finally (for now), one of the things I loved about the Porsche was the community of people who would get together to drive and enjoy their car. I’m not talking about track events, but just point “A” to “B” driving events and meets. Do you all enjoy a similar experience?
Thanks ahead of time.

Yes there is a monthly get together for a drive here in the Bay area for SLK's. I don't know where you live but you would have to see if there is a group there.
