2006 SLK55
Ok...possibly a newbie, but I got a question...

Looking at a 2006 55, but wanted to know if there is anyway to tell what options are on it? IE, is the 030 performance package on it? I think other than the DVD and light pack, there wasn't much else as an option. I tried decoding the vin, but there are about 4 unknown options codes that come back. Thanks for any guidance.

EASY

looks or CF interior. thats the easiest way to tell if its 030 package. RIms can be switched out ... steering wheel can be switched out ... but most won't change the CF.

Make sure the car has airscarf ... thats the best option ever!

The 2006 030 package will also have the 360 mm front brakes with 2-piece rotors (called "composite" which doesn't mean carbon-ceramic) per the photo. The regular version will have one-piece rotors I believe. Will also have different wheels - split 5 spoke. Here are features that come with the 030 package:

Option Code 030

• Internally ventilated composite brake discs measuring 360 x 32mm on the front axle
• AMG Nürburgring sports suspension
• AMG ergonomic sports steering wheel in leather /Alcantara (black)
• 18" AMG multi-piece twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, (front: 7.5 x 18 ET 37 with 225/40R18, rear: 8.5 x 18 ET 30 with 245/35R18 )
• 7-piece carbon trim in the interior
• Maximum speed limitation (Vmax) increased to 280 km/h (174 mph)

In conjunction with the AMG Nürburgring sports suspension the internally ventilated composite brake discs (360mm) on the front axle have improved fade resistance for sporty driving.

The AMG ergonomic sports steering wheel in leather/Alcantara (black), which was developed for the F1 Safety Car, has noticeably improved tactile qualities and ergonomics.

2006 SLK55
Thanks for the reply...that pretty much nails it as a non 030 model. When I ran the VIN decoder it had about 4 codes which didn't show up on any code sheets I could find...is there another site with a complete listing of number? Option codes include:

NZ8
N99
359
427
535
763

Thanks

Those look to be pretty standard options. The big dollar "real" options were:

030 AMG Performance Package $6.8k
319 Lighting Package (bi-xenon) $990
329 Premium Package (dual zone climate control, garage door, etc.) $1.2k
608 Entertainment/Navigation $2.9k
609 Entertainment (Sirius radio) $1.7k
181,235,263 Designo Edition (custom exterior and interior color) $7.95k

Blue tooth was not number optioned from the factory. I think it was installed State-side for $925. Air scarf was $360 and probably one of the better options available.
