Drag Radials

As most of you know the SLK55 comes with some funky tire sizes ...

I've been wanting to throw on some drag radials for some time and finally just decided to try it for the Feb 7th event.

I bought a couple MT 245/40 18s (diameter 25.8) and will be throwing them on my renntech rims tomorrow. Since the diameter is higher than standard I'm going to raise the rear by going to 4pads instead of the 1pads I have on now.

If this works and it seems like I have a little extra clearance, I'll get a couple CCW classics 16inch for the rear. Then hopefully I can throw on the 255/50/16 MTs.
(btw I called CCW to ask about rims and the person there was very professional and competent)

Has no one else really thrown on real drag radials yet on this car?

I just scored a set of rims off tire rack for $99 on a closeout sale. They are strictly for drag racing 16x7.5 and they weigh 19lbs and an offset of 35. it was $220 total out the door. not sure what your brake set up is in the rear but on my C55 these wheels should fit... I hope. I will he using the MTs 255/50/16 too.

This is one way to do it if you dont want to shell out a lot of money for wheels you will only use at the track.

I used the c240 specs from 2005. then selected 16inch wheels
Let me clear up what I miss stated, $99 each and I'm using the rims strictly for racing. Kinda sounded like worded it that they were for Drag racing only. Thats just what I'm using them for

How did you like them at the track? The MT ET Street Radials are very sticky but are also heavy. I want to try the Hooiser radial next

I like

best traction so far at a track was with this MTs. I was still losing some tracking in the first gear and the 2nd gear. regardless i the start was in first or 2nd.

I didn't know hoosier's made this size ...
