SLK55AMG - Diminished Value Claim ?

I was in a wreck about one month ago, and luckily the customer had insurance.
Has anyone had experience with filing a 'diminished value claim', since now i have a car with "damage history"
It is a 2006 SLK55AMG with 30k miles, the damage was to the drivers front and was about $9k.
What do you think the loss of value would be ?
Thanks

I had an experience with a diminshed value claim on my 05 slk 55. Search "Run off the Road" for the details.

That's diminished value for sure. Problem is some carrier's policy specifically exclude it from coverage. Something to check with the carrier paying. Otherwise, get a car guy (maybe local MB dealer) to do an affidavit what it would sell for with the positive damage hit v. a clean unmolested SLK AMG. I know I passed on a couple of SLK that had some minor looking fixes. I think it's especially so with these type of cars, as opposed to a Nissan Sentra. Buyer's are going to want a pristine pedigree...

hey guys, im not sure how it works for benz, but my uncle used to work for ALL STATE, and from what i remember, he used to tell us that it was 25% off the bat for "diminished claim"..

.. just to make it clear, that's 20% off of the current blue book value..

is there frame damage?

an 06 with accident history and 30k miles is a 27-28k car retail.

about 33-35k with clean history

you are looking at 5-7k loss of perceived value. do your math and see if it is worth for you to pursue it.
