I dont believe the BS had cams , just carbon airbox,mass and shorties with ECU tuning....
I have the full parts catalog for the BS and never saw...

Great pics! I'd love to know what they changed to the air intake elbow. Do you have any pics or can you describe what it looks like inside compared to the normal elbow?

The SLK55 AMG Black Series had a new valve-timing scheme to ensure a more efficient charge cycle and make an even more responsive accelerator. I am unsure if they are actually upgraded cams or a calibration of the valve train system. I remember AMG stating the engine performance increase comes largely from the long tube headers, a new valve-timing scheme, and a revised ECU. I doubt the modified air intake box and reduced-resistance AMG sports air filters added much power at all..
