2005 SLK 350
SLK 350 Engine Vibrations

Hey Folks, glad to be back here. Usually means I am having issues with the cars but always happy to hear from other MB fans and enthusiasts.

So my issue started a few days ago. 2005 SLK 350, 180k miles. Driving for about an hour or so, 88 degrees F. air temps. Stop and go traffic. typically no issues. On this day when I can to yet another light, the car felt like something dropped down into a lower gear and the idle dropped to about 475 rpms. After that it felt like I lost a cylinder whilst accelerating. Being old school I resorted to dropping the windows and turning the heat fully up. I watched the temp gauge gor from 90C to below 80. The problem still persisted but the good news is I lost 10 lbs in weight from the sauna. So next day, I drove it in C as opposed to the usual S and babied it to work. About 45 minutes. No issues. Drove it 2.5 hours away in 88F on the weekend and no issues. Started work again this week and the problem is back except today it was only 75F and was not so hot as usual. My gut is telling me a coil over is starting to die. what do you guys think. Oil and water are all up to snuff. Air cleaners where dirty. I cleaned them out and it seemed to run cooler but issue still happened right at 1 hour of drive time. Any suggestions before I do a full tune up including new coils?

Many things could cause Engine vibration or stall,

prefer if you can diagnose the car first,,

codes will help to narrow the issue, instead of losing time & $$$$ for not related parts..
