UK Build/Delivery Date Given!

UK Build/Delivery Date Given!
Hey Folks!
My dealer called me on Wednesday to give me some great news... My SLK55 is to be built the second week of December 2004! Therefore my delivery date has been put at the second week of January 2005!!! However, I suspect that due to the Christmas/New Year holiday period that the delivery date could go back a week - I wait to see!?! My dealer also advised me that I was number 9 in the UK now, having fallen from being number 11 only a few weeks ago (apparently 2 people have cancelled/deferred their orders).
Now the only thing I have to worry about is whether to wait to register the car until 1st March (for the new UK registration) or drive it from January. I suspect this decision could have a considerable effect come resale time - any comments or advice on this one?
By the way, my dealer also asked me for a further £1,500 deposit to be paid ASAP - taking the total deposit sum to £2,000.
